Myanmar President Attends Opening Ceremony of 2026 Chinese Film Week

 President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Chinese Film Week.

The opening ceremony was held today (June 8) at the Ocean Center in Nay Pyi Taw. Attending the event alongside President U Min Aung Hlaing were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Speakers of Parliament and their spouses, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, Union ministers and their spouses, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and his wife, senior military officers, deputy ministers, Chinese Ambassador Ms. Ma Jia, and invited guests.

Upon arrival at the venue, President Min Aung Hlaing and his wife were welcomed by Chinese Ambassador Ms. Ma Jia.

The President, his wife, the Chinese Ambassador, and other officials then signed the commemorative guest book.

Following the signing ceremony, President U Min Aung Hlaing responded to questions from a reporter of China Media Group (CMG).

The President, his wife, and attending officials later took their seats inside the cinema hall and watched a promotional video for the 2026 Chinese Film Week.

President U Min Aung Hlaing and Ambassador Ma Jia then delivered remarks on the occasion of the 2026 Chinese Film Week.

Afterward, the President and his wife, together with officials and Ambassador Ma Jia, took their seats in the screening area and watched the Chinese film Lighting Up the Stars, which was presented as part of the event.
