Ygn. Region Govt: to use minimal force to avoid panic in wards and street

In summoning those who have close contact with COVID-19 positive cases, minimal force must be used to avoid panic in wards and streets according to Yangon Region COVID-19 control and emergency response committee on April 26. The committee has sent this statement to districts and townships COVID-19 control and emergency response committees.

Maximum forces are being used in fetching people to send facility quarantine places and as a result the public faced panic in doing so. Measures on prevention and control of COVID-19 couldn’t be reduced and it is expected that if preventive measures are carried out like this, a huge outbreak may be prevented according to the Ministry of Health and Sports. 

The statement described that there are 7020 quarantine places and a total of 42671 people are under quarantine. These figures showed that preventive and control measures couldn’t be stopped and it could be extended till middle of May. To abide by the instructions issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports is of utmost importance, it stated. Besides, people have to take of themselves, abide by social distancing, to stay at home, to avoid crowded places, and if go outside, to wear masks systematically.
