A bus from the YBS ran over an old woman near the Sinminzay bus stop on Lower Kyimyindaing Road, Ahlone Township on February 2.

An old woman was hit by a bus from the YBS near the Sinminzay bus stop on Lower Kyimyindaing Road, Ahlone Township at around 12 pm on February 2, according to Kyi Lay Kyi Social Assistance Association.

"Our office is over there. While we were there, the people nearby shouted that we thought it was a car accident. When we went back, we saw that the grandmother was under the YBS bus. According to the people who saw it, she was hit and went under the car and was crushed. When we were picking up the patient, the bus driver was still there. The patient had been taken to the hospital and when we got back, the driver ran away," said an official from Kyi Lay Kyi Social Assistance Association.

The old lady, 80 years old, suffered a laceration on her right thigh and was taken to Yangon General Hospital.

"The flesh of the right thigh was torn. The leg was found to be in a twisted position. At the hospital, the doctor gave her oxygen. The thigh was bandaged," said an official from the Kyi Lay Kyi Social Assistance Association.

After the incident, the driver ran away and the incident is still being investigated by the relevant traffic police force.
