President U Min Aung Hlaing said efforts are underway to resume operations at No. 1 Thanlyin Oil Refinery as part of measures to increase domestic fuel self-sufficiency.
On July 18, the President, accompanied by officials, inspected the progress of work to restart operations at the refinery.
During the inspection, he said the initiative is being implemented to increase the domestic supply of fuel, reduce reliance on imported petroleum products and lower the country's foreign currency expenditure by bringing the Thanlyin Oil Refinery back into operation.
