U Thaung Dan, a Ward-administrator in Thumarlar-8 Street, Ward-2 North Okkalapa Township was shot in front of Maha Ah Tula Dhammayone at 10:30 am on August 20 according to those living in the street.

He was shot at his head and some said he was dead but some said he was not according to neighbours.

“He was shot in front of Maha Ah Tula Dhammayone at 10:30 am. His house is in 14 Street. Afterwards, police and security forces arrived and closed the street,” said a man living in the street.

Shooting took place when he and his wife were riding a bicycle but his wife was not hurt according to sources.
