Village administrator shot in Kyaikmaraw Township

The administrator of Kawtkalain Village-tract in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State, was shot on the evening of August 20, according to local sources.

Zaw Min, aged 45, from Kyar Inn Chaung Village of Kawtkalain Village-tract, accompanied by his wife drove to Kyar Inn Chaung village around 4:30 pm of August 20. On arrival at the district-to-district road, two unknown gunmen arrived there by motorbike and shot at Zaw Min.

“ Zaw Min was wounded in the left forearm and left nape. However, his wife wasn’t shot. Now, Zaw Min is being hospitalized in Mawlamyaing People’s Hospital,” said one of the locals.

Likewise, a local from Kyunyar village in Kyaikmayaw Township was wounded in the gun attacks on his motorbike on July 12 so also a local from Chaungnakhwa village in Kyaikmayaw Township, Mon State, was shot dead on July 2, according to the locals.
