Two parliamentary representatives-elect from NLD in Chin State filed for objection

Letters of objection have been submitted against two parliamentary representatives-elect from the National League for Democracy in Paletwa and Falam townships in Chin State, according to the NLD committee for ensuring election victory in the state. 

“We will respond to the accusations and objections in accord with the law and procedures,” said committee chairman Salai Aik Zet Khin. 

Representative-elect Sein Aung for Paletwa Township lower house constituency was filed for objection by a parliamentary candidate from the Union Solidarity and Development Party and representative-elect Dr Salai Riyan Vel for Falam Township lower house constituency by some voters from the military. 

Salai Aik Zet Khin declined to explain the reasons why on behalf of them. 

“They are showing their objection because they might be unhappy with the election results and fairness,” he said. 

Parliamentary representative-elect Sein Aung could not be reached for the matter. 

He defeated the USDP candidate with 203 more votes. Meanwhile, Dr Salai Riyan Vel beat the candidate from Chin National League for Democracy with 9,357 more votes, according to the Union Election Commission.
