Three central executive committee members of Taninthayi Region National League for Democracy have had their party duties stopped for violating party discipline, said NLD spokesperson Dr Myo Nyunt.

NLD issued an official letter on August 19, and according to a meeting resolution passed on August 18, party duties of Taninthayi Region NLD CEC treasurer Than Tun, information officer Mya Yadana Htet and discipline enforcement team leader Aye Naing were revoked in line with party discipline enforcement procedures.

"It is in accord with the party discipline. They had blunders in their duties," said Dr Myo Nyunt.

Moreover, Taninthayi Region NLD chairman and CEC member Aung Soe was allowed to resign on August 19.

Dr Myo Nyunt said there were complaints against those four persons including Aung Soe and a meeting held in July 22 decided to launch enquiry.

"The case related to them has been inspected. But there were delays because we had not received the decision from the NLD CEC. The order came after the CEC gave approval," said the NLD spokesperson.

Aung Soe submitted his resignation letter before the enquiry for the three region NLD executives.

On August 18 also, NLD's central research committee secretary Myo Yan Naung Thein was barred from shouldering party duties for performing non-party duties.
