The ASEAN Special Envoy and seven NCAs-EAOs meet in Nay Pyi Taw

The delegation led by Mr. Alounkeo Kittikhoun, the ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar, and the seven ethnic armed groups that have signed the NCA met at the National Unity and Peacebuilding Center meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw on January 10 to discuss issues related to the peace process, sources said.

In this meeting, the ASEAN Special Envoy delivered a greeting and stated the five-point consensus of ASEAN. They also discussed issues related to Myanmar's peace process and humanitarian assistance.

After that, on behalf of the seven ethnic armed groups that signed the NCA, KNU/KNLA Peace Council Vice Chairperson Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo gave a greeting, and the ethnic armed organizations made individual introductions and discussed the opinions of each group.

After that, on behalf of the ethnic armed organizations that attended, U Khun Oakka, the leading patron of the Pa-Oh National Liberation Organization (PNLO), expressed his thanks and the ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar gave the closing remarks.

The meeting was attended by a delegation led by the ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar and the officials from the ethnic armed groups that signed the NCA, the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), KNU/KNLA Peace Council, Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), Pa-Oh National Liberation Organization (PNLO), Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), New Mon State Party (NMSP), Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST).
