State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi gave a talk about national reconciliation, democratic transition process and Rakhine State issue at National University of Public Service in Hungary, announced the State Counsellor Office.

She arrived at the National University of Public Service on June 6, where she was welcomed by Rector Dr Andras Koltay and other officials.

The State Counsellor then addressed an audience consisting of the rector, professors, staffs and students of the university. She talked at length on Myanmar’s democratic transition process, efforts towards internal peace and national reconciliation, endeavours for implementing peace, stability and development in Rakhine State, initiating education reforms, bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Hungary on education, and promoting interaction between the peoples of both countries.

The State Counsellor answered questions raised by the students and then handed over souvenirs to the rector. She visited the Hungarian Parliament Building where she met with Márta Mátrai, First Officer of the National Assembly.

During the meeting, they exchanged similar experiences of Myanmar and Hungary in their respective democratic transitions, discussed promoting cooperation between the parliaments of both countries and developing their skills.

After that, the State Counsellor attended to a luncheon hosted by Zsolt Németh, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly. The State Counsellor attended the opening ceremony of the Hungary-Myanmar Business Forum held at the Marriott Hotel in Budapest and delivered a speech. Union Ministers Thaung Tun and Kyaw Tin, Ambassador Myo Aye and officials also attended the meeting and the economic forum.
