A security personal was killed in a shootout near Maha Thein Taw Gyi in Pabedan Township, downtown Yangon at about 3:30 pm on September 29, according to people living near the area.

"There was a shooting near the Maha Thein Taw Gyi. I heard gunshots. The roads have been closed and checked," said a resident near the area.

As a result of the shooting, one of the security forces members, who was sitting on a trishaw at a nearby trishaw gate while buying chewing betel in plain clothes, was shot six times and died on the spot.

According to people living near the incident, the security forces blocked traffic around the area and conducted inspections after the incident.
