Some drivers said that there are road closures due to the security situation in some parts of the Myitkyina-Mandalay Union Road.

Since a few days ago, there have been frequent roadblocks on the Mandalay-Madaya-Tagaung-Htigyaing-Intaw-Myitkyina road between Htigyaing and Intaw townships. On November 9, Intaw Township governing body announced the temporary closure of Tagaung-Htigyaing-Intaw road, causing hundreds and tens of cars and passenger cars to be stuck on the road.

"There are a lot of car coming in to Htigyaing and coming out from Intaw. They are trapped. They should have announced in advance. Now, we heard the road is blocked after we are going out from the town, so passenger cars are more inconvenient than trucks," said a driver.

Most of the vehicles rarely use the Intaw-Shwebo road section due to the security situation, and the Intaw-Htigyaing-Tagaung-Mandalay road section is used more often.

A bus line owner from Myitkyina said, "We didn't go to Htigyaing, but Shwebo Road. The cars going up to the Htigyaing are not allowed to come."
