SAC controls some parts of KNU’s area except Lay Kay Kaw

NAYPYITAW-----The information team of State Administration Council (SAC) said that they already seized Hyeemae Warkhi, Mae Htaw Thale, Ingyin Myaing, Minletpan and Phlu villages except Lay Kay Kaw Myothit[New Town].

When military[Tatmadaw] searched Lay Kay Kaw Myothit in accordance with the law since the beginning of December 14th, they arrested members of People’s Defence Force (PDF) from National Unity Government(NUG) and 21 persons who participated in the Civil Disobedient Movement(CDM). Due to the fighting took place on December 15th, security members including senior officers and Tatmadaw men died and some were injured and arrested, according to the SAC’s report.

The SAC’s information team also reported that the military attacked some leaders from Karen National Union (KNU), NUG and PDF since the beginning of December 15th. So, the fighting intensified because the KNU, NUG and PDF carried out counter attacks on the military. In accordance with Rule of Engagement, military reinforced its military presence. Later, they carried out airstrike on the enemy target and station and there were 25 times of fighting.

The SAC reported that they controlled Hyeemae Warkhi, Mae Htaw Thale, Ingyin Myaing, Minletpan and Phlu villages except Lay Kay Kaw Myothit villages on December 19th.

During the fighting, military seized some bodies, 19 weapons and ammunitions including Sniper machine guns and homemade guns.

Thousands of villagers fled from their homes to Thailand border after crossing Mori River due to ongoing fighting between military and NUG and PDF as well as KNU took place in Hyeemae Warkhi, Mae Htaw Thale, Ingyin Myaing, Minletpan and Phlu villages and Lay Kay Kaw Myothit in Kayin State.

So, the committees from Myanmar and Thailand planned to reside again the displaced villagers so also the relevant security members are now re-inviting the innocent civilians by using loudspeakers in Myanmar and Kayin languages.
