SAC announces 397 roads and bridges damaged by mine and arson attacks

A total of 397 roads and bridges were damaged by mine and arson attacks between February 1 and November 20, according to the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC).

Infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, government offices, public and commercial buildings, buildings, roads and bridges are being mined and set fire from February 1, to November 20.

Number of roads and bridges, which have been damaged by mine and arson attacks, are nine roads and bridges in five townships in Nay Pyi Taw, 20 roads and bridges in ten townships in Kachin State, four roads and bridges in two townships in Kayah State, ten roads and bridges in six townships in Kayin State, two roads and bridges in one township in Chin State, 94 roads and bridges in 30 townships in Sagaing Region, six roads and bridges in three townships in Taninthayi Region, 16 roads and bridges in seven townships in Bago Region, 22 roads and bridges in ten townships in Magway Region, 55 roads and bridges in 17 townships in Mandalay Region, 30 roads and bridges in eight townships in Mon State, 109 roads and bridges in 38 townships in Yangon Region, 14 roads and bridges in eight townships in Shan State and six roads and bridges in five townships in Ayeyawady Region, it said.

A total of 444 schools had been damaged by mine and arson attacks from February 1 to November 15 in Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon and Shan states and Sagaing, Tanintharyi, Bago, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon  and Ayeyawady regions. In that period, 25 hospitals and clinics were destroyed by mine and arson attacks in Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Mon and Shan states and Sagaing, Bago, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon  and Ayeyawady regions, it said.
