A blaze devoured three train carriages, abadoned for over three years at Nanma Station in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State at around 4:40 pm on March 20, according to witnesses.

According to locals, the area is known to harbor drug users, speculating that smoking and substance abuse may have sparked the fire. Despite efforts, the fire rapidly spread, consuming wooden furnishings within the carriages. With thick bushes nearby, there were concerns of further escalation.

Residents noted that the carraiges had remained stationary for more than three years prior to the incident. The blaze resulted in the destruction of two express-class carriages and one ordinary-class carriage, as per reports.
