The State Administration Council (SAC) has allowed U Thein Soe to retire from the duties of the Chairman of the Union Election Commission (UEC) on health grounds under Section 419 of the Constitution with order no. 9/2024 dated on January 31.
At the same time, SAC has appointed and assigned U Ko Ko as the chairman of UEC under Section 419 of the Constitution with order no. 10/2024 dated on January 31.
