A woman was rescued by social organizations after she fell and trapped in a well near her house on February 9, according to sources.

She fell in the well around 4 am on that day. No one noticed when she fell into the well until a family member went to that well to wash her face.  Soon, the family seeked help from social organizations. A rescue team from Mawlamyine Fire Services Department and emergency aid groups and those live in the street cooperated in rescuing her alive from the well.

“It is a 50 feet depth well. The water in the well is about 20 feet. It is estimated that she fell in the well at around 4 am on that day. A rescue worker entered the well and helped her out,” said a man from Bo Bo win Rescue Association.

The woman was suffering mental illness, the man said. She was given first aid after the rescue.  The rescue teams were able to pull her from the well alive around 6:10 am, according to sources.
