Police handed back a Chinese fugitive to China

A Chinese fugitive, who is wanted by China and The International Criminal Police Organization mostly known as INTERPOL, was arrested at Yangon International Airport on January 26 and handed back to China, announced Ministry of Home Affairs on January 27.

“We handed back the fugitive to China and if you want to know about it in details, you can ask senior officials from Nay Pyi Taw,” said a police officer from Aviation Police Force.

The police officer didn’t say the time the fugitive was being handed back to China.

The aviation police force found Liang Xiaolei, who was wanted by a court from Ning Bo for failing to pay over ¥10 million as an income tax, on January 26 at the Yangon International Airport, announced the ministry.

He had been listed as a Red Notice by the INTERPOL also and Chinese embassy in Myanmar requested Myanmar authorities to detain him.

He arrived in Yangon from Hong Kong on January 19 and come to the Yangon International Airport to go to Thailand on January 26 before arrested by the aviation police. The police kept him at Mingaladon Township police station.
