Over 170,000 Kayah residents forced to flee needing helps

LOIKAW-----Women’s League of Burma (WLB) released a statement on January 11th saying that over 170,000 locals in Kayah State are now fleeing to safer places needing the helps.

Nearly 200,000 locals already have been displaced by the intensive fighting continue in Loikaw, Demoso, Pharuso and Mobye Townships in Kayah State.

Therefore, the displaced people are in urgent need of food, cloth and shelter as well as utensils.

“There are nearly 200,000 people fleeing from Loikaw, Demoso, Pharuso and Mobye Townships to safer places in southern Shan State,” said a person from IDP Rescue Team.

“The vehicles carrying displaced locals were moving on January 11th and 12th. Currently, the Loikaw Township, a capital of Kayah State, is deadly dull. But, there have been a little guardians in every wards of Kayah State,” said a person from Social Welfare Organization in Loikaw Township.

A dweller from Loikaw Township also said that about 75% of population was forced to flee from Loikaw Township to safer places since January 11th.
