NSPNC and seven NCAs-EAOs hold a meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the representatives of the seven ethnic armed groups that signed the nationwide ceasefire agreement (NCA) held a meeting on January 9 at the National Unity and Peacemaking Center in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lieutenant General Yar Pyae, members of the Coordination Committee for National Unity and Peacemaking Lt. General Sein Win (retired), Lieutenant General Win Bo Shein and members of the Coordination Committee, Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) members U Khun Oakka and U Myo Win, Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Chairman Saw Mya Raza Lin, KNU/KNLA Peace Council Vice Chairperson Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) vice president Kya Phu, Khun Min Thein, Co-Secretary General (1) of the Pa-Oh National Liberation Organization (PNLO), Saw Kyaw Than Htay, head of the relations department of the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), Nai Nyi Nyi, the second in charge of the Development Department of the New Mon State Party (NMSP) and Nan San Phaung, a member of the Central Committee of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS).

In the meeting, Lieutenant General Yar Pyae and Vice Chairperson Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, on behalf of the ethnic armed groups present, gave greetings.

After that, the peace process to be carried out and humanitarian aid work in the areas where ethnic armed organizations are located. It is reported that they discussed and negotiated about regional development activities.

After that, Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Chairman Saw Mya Raza Lin on behalf of the ethnic armed groups that attended and Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt. Gen. Yar Pyae, made closing remarks.
