Earth and stones collapsed onto the road leading to the mountain of Kyaik Htee Yoe Pagoda in Kyaikhto Township, Mon State, this morning.

A representative from the Pagoda Board of Trustees reported that the landslide occurred on the Kyaik Htee Yoe mountain road, near the 7 miles and 6 furlongs mark from the Kimoon camp at the foot of the Kyaik Htee Yoe Pagoda.

He noted that it has been raining almost every day, which caused the earth to collapse onto the road. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage due to the landslide.

A total of 40 people, including fire brigade members from Kyaik Htee Yoe mountain, the pagoda board of trustees, Kyaik Htee Yoe Mountain’s vehicle services, and the Keble team, responded to the collapse of soil and stones on Kyaik Htee Yoe Mountain.

Due to torrential rain and strong winds on the morning of June 10, a banyan tree situated in front of the Kimoon camp fell, resulting in damage to a shop and a lamppost.
