Myanmar has launched the first non-landing sightseeing flight tour with a Yangon-Kyaikhtiyo-Hpa-an schedule on December 20.

The plane left Yangon International Airport and flew low over the areas of Kyaihtiyo Pagoda in Mon State and Hpa-an and Zwegabin Mountain in Kayin State as well as other significant places.

“We started this sightseeing flight tour with a Kyaikhtiyo-Hpa-an schedule. We are also planning to conduct flight tours to other nearby areas. The tour is now 30 minutes. We will also plan an hour’s long tours,” said Naung Naung Han, president at Myanmar Travel Association.

The flight started from and returned to Yangon. There were a total of 35 passengers on board the plane.

The first non-landing sightseeing flight tour was conducted with ART-72 flight of Myanmar National Airlines. The plane flew 5,000 feet above ground for the obeisance of the Kyaihtiyo Pagoda and 3,000 feet above ground for the scenery of Mount Zwegabin.

Naung Naung Han said other airlines are also planning such sightseeing flight tours based in Mandalay Region to go sightseeing in spectacular places such as Bagan and Inlay.
