New Mon State Party delegation arrives in Nay Pyi Taw at Senior General Min Aung Hlaing’s invitation for peace talks

A peace delegation led by Vice Chairman of the New Mon State Party Nai Aung Min arrived in Nay Pyi Taw from Mawlamyine on May 22 at the invitation of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the ethnic armed organizations to peace talks.

On arrival at the Horizon Lake View Resort in Nay Pyi Taw by car, the delegation was welcomed by members of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee and ethnic nationals from the Department of Culture, holding Myanmar miniature flags and placards bearing, “Perpetual Peace is the real aspiration of the people”, “Achieving peace is the true desire of all citizens”, “Let’s hold talks for peace in the Union”, “Only the ethnic nationalities are in unity, stability, peace and tranquility will be achieved”

The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) was the first delegation to arrive in Nay Pyi Taw to hold the peace talks.

The RCSS delegation led by Chairman General Yawd Serk also held talks with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on May 20 and then with the SAC’s peace negotiation team led by Lieutenant General Yar Pyae on May 21 and 22. Then, agreements were signed following the three days of discussions.
