Nearly $3 bn earned from foreign trade in one month this FY

Nearly US$3 billion has been earned from foreign trade within one month since 2018-2019 fiscal year but trade deficit is about US$370 million, according to sources from the Ministry of Commerce.

From October 1 to November 2 this year in 2018-2019 fiscal year, foreign trade value amounted to over US$2.917 billion, exceeding by US$283.068 million compared to the same period of last fiscal year.

Within one month this fiscal year, export value totalled over US$1.274 billion and import value US$1.643 billion causing a trade deficit of US$369.387 million.

Compared with the same period of last fiscal year, this year saw an increase of over US$160 million in export and over US$120 million in import.

In the mini budget from April to September this year, trade value reached record high with a total amount of over US$18.4 billion exceeding by over US$2 billion compared to the same period of last year, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

Myanmar exports agricultural products, animal products, fishery products, forest products, mineral products, raw industrial materials (CMP) and other products.
