Naval vessels send supplies to disaster-affected regions of Rakhine State

The Naval vessels are now transporting relief items including rice bags to the disaster-affected regions of Rakhine State which had faced losses and damages due to the severe cyclonic storm MOCHA.

Military vessel 554 of Tatmadaw (Navy) left for Sittway Township from No.6 Naval Jetty (Kyaukphyu Township) yesterday morning carrying 5,000 eggs, about 500 visses of chicken, 100 cartons of noodles and 600 packs of 1-litre water bottles becasue the township was demolished by an extremely severe cyclone MOCHA. They then distributed foodstuffs and drinking water to the storm victims and further assistance will be provided to the people in Rathedaung.

Likewise, the naval vessel( Mottama) also left for Sittway this morning from Bo Aung Kyaw jetty carrying 6,000 packs of ration (about 60 tonnes) donated by the Office of Commander-in-Chief( Army), 12,000 bags of rice donated by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, 1,000 tarpaulin rolls, about 105 tonnes of rice by the Office of State Administration Council, 35 tonnes of nails and 40,000 CI sheets by Myanma Economic Holdings Public Company Limited, one  MPT mobile truck, 17 tonnes of telecom towers and other devices of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and another vessel (Maha Bandoola) from No.4 naval jetty carrying 113 cartons of noodles, 8,800 sachets of electrolyte drinks, 5,000 eggs, drinking water, meat and fish, 100 visses of fish paste, 800 visses of dried fish by the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy), 10,000 eggs by Yangon Command and 500 rice bags by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. 

Moreover, Tatmadaw (Navy) participated in the transport of relief items for the victims in storm-hit-areas.
