A bridge named Masaw, situated on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway near Shweyanpyar village in Bilin Township, Mon State, was mined early this morning.

The explosion caused significant damage, cutting off transportation access and resulting in three motorbikes falling into the creek below. The incident left one motorcyclist dead and three others seriously injured, according to reports.

A local resident stated that the Masaw bridge, which is 24 feet wide and 106 feet long, partially collapsed into the creek due to the blast. The bridge is now impassable, causing severe disruption to traffic.

Unaware of the mine attack, three motorbikes traveling from Thaton Township to Bilin Township fell into the creek as they attempted to cross the damaged bridge. The accident resulted in one death and three serious injuries, as confirmed by local social organizations. The injured individuals and the deceased were transported to Bilin Hospital for treatment.

This attack on the Masaw bridge has halted the flow of goods and disrupted transportation. It follows a similar incident 12 days earlier, when the Kyoneeike Bridge on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road, between Thaton Township and Bilin Township, was also destroyed by a mine.
