A pickup truck carrying 26 Myanmar and Thai workers overturned in Chon Buri province, Thailand, yesterday morning, injuring 23 people.

The accident was caused by a flat tire and loss of speed control.

U Moe Gyo, the chairman of Joint Action Committee for Burmese Affairs (JACBA), advised the Myanmar workers to contact the Human Rights Development Foundation (HRDF) and the Myanmar Labour Diplomat Office in Thailand to claim compensation according to the law. He said that even if the workers did not have documents, they could still present valid evidence to receive compensation under the Thai law.

This was the third time in 2024 that Myanmar workers were involved in a traffic accident in Thailand.
