Myanmar reports 523 confirmed cases on Jan 13

Myanmar found 523 new COVID-19 confirmed patients on January 13 bringing the total number of patients to 132,260 and 24 more people died, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the night of January 13.

A total of 17,827 samples are tested between 8 pm of January 12 and 8 pm of January 13 and found 523 confirmed patients. 21 out of 24 patients died in public hospitals, COVID-19 treatment centers and military hospitals, on January 13 are the patients with underlying chronic medical conditions. Up to 2,902 patients have died from the virus, it said.

It said 2,055,757 samples were tested till January 13 and found 132,260 patients so far.

It said Myanmar tested daily average of 18,813 samples between January 4 and 13.

A total of 369 people, who had close contact with positive patients in Yangon Region and tested negative, are put in home quarantine, it said.

A total of 560 people: 447 from public hospitals and 113 from COVID-19 treatment centers, are allowed to be discharged from the hospital bringing the total number of people to 115,621, it said.
