Myanmar reports 1,180 new patients and 14 deaths on Nov 10

Myanmar found 1,180 new COVID-19 confirmed cases on November 10 bringing total number of patients to 509,771, according to an announcement from Ministry of Health (MOH).

A total of 28,819 samples were tested between 8 pm of November 9 and 8 pm of November 10 and found 1,180 patients. 14 more people died from the virus bringing total number of death tolls to 18,869, according to a report from the ministry.

The samples were tested in labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.9 100-Bed Military Hospital in Lashio, at private hospitals and labs and using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states.

A total of 5,110,892 samples are tested till November 10 and 941 people are allowed to be discharged from the hospitals bringing total number to 481,161, it said.

The COVID-19 vaccine is being given to targeted groups in the regions and states for COVID-19 prevention and control. A total of 8,853,554 people have been vaccinated twice and 5,303,646 people have been vaccinated once, totaling 23,010,754 jabs, till November 9.

Vaccines are being given to people over the age of 55, and now those over 45 will be vaccinated as of October 17.

Target groups have been expanded to include the COVID-19 vaccination program since 14 September. People over the age of 55, people with disabilities, members and families of ethnic armed groups, people from migrant groups and temporary camps, and people with chronic and non-communicable diseases are included in the vaccination program and is currently being extended to those over 45 years of age.
