Although Kyauk Lone Gyi Reception camp in Myawaddy has closed, undocumented Myanmar migrant workers are still coming back from Thailand.

About 100 Myanmar migrant workers are coming back from Koe Thone Lone gate in Thaungyin River.

Since January 1, 2019, the government has allowed undocumented Myanmar migrant workers to come back to Myawaddy  via Koe Thone Lone gate in Thaungyin River. An average of 50 to 100 migrant workers are coming back daily from that gate. No fees have been collected from these undocumented Myanmar migrant workers and arrangements have been made for them to go back to their native places according to an official from that gate.

A woman coming back from Thailand said that, "I am working at the rubber plantation in Thailand  with my parents. But, I am afraid to be arrested because I have no documents. That's why I came back to do necessary documents.".

Among the returnees were those who have no documents at all  and those who want to make documents. Among them, there are people from Malaysia and want to make proper documents.

Due to the new law released from Thailand  on migrant workers, undocumented Myanmar migrant workers are coming back from Thailand since July, 2017.
