Government announced top foreign tax payers list for 2017-18 FY and Moattama Gas Transportation Co. Ltd and Telenor Myanmar Ltd topped the list of top income tax payers list and top commercial tax payers list respectively, according to Internal Revenue Department.
The top ten income tax payers from overseas companies are Moattama Gas Transportation Co. Ltd which paid above Ks100 billion, Telenor Myanmar Ltd which paid above Ks80 billion, Taninthayi Pipeline Company LLC which paid above Ks50 billion, Myanmar Brewery Ltd which paid under Ks40 billion, KDDI Summit Global Myanmar Co. Ltd, PTTEP International Ltd and Yangon Aerodrome Co. Ltd which paid under Ks30 billion, Total E & P Myanmar Co. Ltd which paid under Ks10 billion, Unocal Myanmar Offshore Co. Ltd which paid under Ks8 billion and Myanmar CP Livestock Co. Ltd which paid under Ks6 billion. There are two companies from natural gas transportation sector, three companies from oil and natural gas production sector, two companies from telecommunication sector, two companies from production sector and one company from services sector included in the top ten income tax payers list.
The top ten commercial tax payers from overseas companies are Telenor Myanmar Ltd which paid above Ks50 billion, Oooredoo Myanmar Ltd, Myanmar Brewery Ltd, Shwe Li (1) Hydropower Co. Ltd and Virginia Tobacco Co. Ltd which paid under Ks50 billion, Myanmar Distillery Co. Ltd, Huawei Technologies (Yangon) Co. Ltd, DKSH Myanmar Ltd, Lluvia Ltd and Coca Cola Pinya Beverages Myanmar Ltd which paid under Ks10 billion. There are two companies from two companies from telecommunication sector, six companies from production sector, one company from services sector and one company from trading sector included in the top ten commercial tax payers list.
A total of 105 foreign companies are included in top income tax payers list and they are from oil and natural gas sector, natural gas transportation sector, services sector, production sector, trading sector, banking sector, hotel and tourism sector, construction sector, telecommunication sector, piecework sector and microfinance sector.
A total of 166 foreign companies are included in top commercial tax payers list and they are from telecommunication sector, production sector, services sector, construction sector, trading sector, hotel and tourism sector and port services sector.
Numbers of foreign companies, which paid income and commercial taxes, and tax amounts paid by foreign companies in this fiscal year are declined in compared with last fiscal year. The highest income tax payer in last fiscal year paid above Ks140 billion and there were 269 foreign companies included in the list. In the same time, the highest commercial tax payer in last fiscal year paid above Ks100 billion and there were 299 foreign companies included in the list.
