Men “arrest” youths protesting against Pu Ywin labour violence

YANGON- Men, in civilian clothing, grappled and “arrested” some youths that staged a protest against the violent crackdown of the Pu Ywin boycott yesterday evening.

The young protests started around 7pm by marching to Myaenigone starting under Myaenigone overpass in Sanchaung Township by holding a vinyl with the words “ Is the Regional Government ignoring the violence on the Pu Ywin boycott?”

On arrival at the in front of Dagon Center-1 in Myaenigone Township, some men were seen to have began shouting for the protestors to be arrested. Some of them later approached the protestors, grappled with them and took them to a police station.

All of the five young protestors had covered their faces. Two held the vinyl and three distributed the pamphlets to nearby civilians.

At present, two students from All Burma Federation of Student Union (Ba-Ka-Tha) Hnin Aung and Wai Yan are being detained, according to their closely community.
