KUALA LUMPUR (The Star) - Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was conferred the Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (DMN) or the Order of the Crown of the Realm in a ceremony at the Istana Negara here, according to Bernama as reported by The Star.

The federal award was presented to the King by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar was in attendance.

The DMN consists of five components, namely a collar, a badge on the collar, a star, a sash, and a badge on the sash. It is normally conferred to the Queen of Malaysia, and newly appointed Malay Rulers in his state, as well as other distinguished individuals.

Also present at the ceremony were the Prime Minister's wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Chief Justice Tan Sri Richard Malanjum, Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar, Attorney General Tommy Thomas, Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun. — Bernama
