Low pressure area may occur at Bay of Bengal in second Dekad of April

A low pressure area may occur at Bay of Bengal in April, according to weather forecast of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) for second Dekad of April.

A low pressure area may form over the South Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal, it said.

“The low pressure areas formed in April are important. The affect on Myanmar is depended on the location of the low pressure areas. If they are formed in south or southwest of Co Co Island, Yangon, Ayeyawady and Bago regions will have rain. We need to be careful,” said meteorologist Chit Kyaw.

Moreover a storm may occur at Bay of Bengal in April and people lived in delta area and coastal areas of Rakhine need to be careful of it. Although the storms were not entered Myanmar or not, their effects made serious consequences at Myanmar Coast and offshore area, according to some meteorologists.

Above normal rain are likely in upper Sagaing and Taninthayi regions, Kachin and Chin states, about normal in lower Sagaing and Mandalay regions, Shan State and below normal in Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyawady regions, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon states.

Rainy days are expected about 4 to 6 days in upper Sagaing and Taninthayi regions, Kachin and Chin states and about 1 to 3 days in lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyawady regions, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon states.

Day Temperature will be about normal temperature of April in upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Shan (north) and Chin states and 1.5°C above normal in lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Bago Yangon, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions, Shan (East and South), Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, its forecast said.
