Authorities had sealed off the homes of 224 members of the National League for Democracy including 119 members of parliament belonging to the party from February 1, 2021 to July 1, 2022, according to a statement released by the NLD’s central executive committee on July 5.

The statement also quoted the data gathered by NLD HRD-T as saying that offices of the NLD Headquarters, regions, states, townships and wards/villages were vandalized. There were 106 attacks on those offices, it pointed out.

Such acts of vandalism were usually committed at night-time when the curfew is in effect.

At a time when NLD CEC members were under detention, the NLD Head Office in Bahan Township, Yangon Region, was searched and documents were taken away on February 9 this year. Moreover, the office faced an arson attack on March 26, 2021 and a bomb attack on June 17, 2021, the statement said.

The NLD CEC has filed legal complaints against those cases at Bahan Township Police State.

The statement also said that some unknown persons made attempts of intrusion into the office building. According to the meeting resolution passed by the NLD CEC members and regional in-charges on June 15, 2022, legal or disciplinary actions will be taken against those if they enter the NLD Head Office without approval, the statement warned.
