Fuel prices surge, reaching an increase of over 300 kyats per liter

The prices of fuel have increased nearly over Ks.300 per litre and a litre of 92 Ron jumped to Ks.2,510, according to filling stations.

A litre of 92 Ron cost Ks.2,510, a litre of 95 Ron cost Ks.2,640, a litre of Premium diesel cost Ks.2,305 and a litre of diesel cost Ks.2,210 on December 1.

A litre of 92 Ron cost Ks.2,170, a litre of 95 Ron cost Ks.2,300, a litre of Premium diesel cost Ks. 2,290 and a litre of diesel cost Ks.2,200 on November 30.

For 92 Ron and 95 Ron, Ks.340 per litre was increased, while a litre of Premium diesel has Ks.15 higher than the previous price and a litre of diesel has higher Ks.10 respectively.

In Thailand on November 27, a litre of diesel cost Baht 44.344, in China it cost 8.507 Yuan, in Japan, it cost 173.7 Yen, in Vietnam, it cost 24112 Dong, and in Singapore, it cost Singapore dollar 2.698, according to Global Petrol Price.

Some filling stations in Yangon weren’t able to sell fuel on November 10 and some closed their shops.

The prices of fuel on November 11 were a litre of 92 Ron cost Ks.2,060, a litre of 95 Ron cost Ks.2,160, a litre of Premium diesel cost Ks.2,195 and a litre of diesel cost Ks.2,315, according to fuel stations.

But, filling stations were unable to sell fuel as a litre of 92 Ron cost under ks.2,100. According to a statement issued by the State Administration Council, three filling stations in Yangon were taken action as they failed to sell fuel.
