Explosion took place near Tatmadaw Garment Factory in Hlaingtharya Township

The explosion took place around 10 pm on August 23 near the Tatmadaw garment factory near Sanema bus stop on Nyaungdon Road, Hlaingtharya Township.

Gunfire was heard after the blast. According to initial inquiries, two people inside the factory were injured in the blast.

A resident of Hlaing Tharyar Township said, "Last night, I heard a loud explosion near the factory near Sanema bus stop. Then I heard a series of gunshots. I heard two people had injuries but I don’t know who they are.”

Soldiers are guarding the garment factory.

A similar explosion took place at around 1 pm on August 20 inside the Tatmadaw Textile and Garment Factory (Thamine) at the corner of Insein Road and Parami Road in Hlaing Township. Explosions occurred from a place where the vehicles parked inside the factory and smoke billowed out, injuring people and damaging properties, according to residents.
