Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was unable to attend a court hearing on the case against Burma Official Secret Act due to ill health, which she is charged along with former Ministers of Planning and Finance U Kyaw Win and U Soe Win, former Deputy Minister U Set Aung and Australian Sean Turnell, according to reports.

The case of former State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, former Ministers of Planning and Finance U Kyaw Win and U Soe Win, former Deputy Minister U Set Aung and Australian Sean Turnell, who were charged under Section 3 (1) (c) of the Burma Official Secret Act on February 3, was arranged in the Zambu Thiri Special Court in Nay Pyi Taw, where the Dakkhina Thiri District Judge is acting.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was unable to attend the office due to ill health on February 3, and former Minister of Planning and Finance U Kyaw Win and U Soe Win were unable to appear in court as they were still receiving medical treatment in hospital, according to the sources.

Former Planning and Finance Minister U Soe Win, who was sued along with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi at a recent court hearing, has been granted bail on medical ground, according to reports.

Former Planning and Finance Minister U Kyaw Win, who is being treated at a hospital, was also granted bail requested by his lawyers at a recent hearing, according to reports.

The trial of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, three former ministers and Sean Turnell is set to resume on February 10, according to reports.
