Two men lost their lives in a tragic crane accident at Myat Noethu yard in Ward N.67, Dagon Seikan township, Yangon Region, on 23 January.

 The incident occurred around 9am when a crane was being loaded on to a ship and the cable snapped, causing the crane to fall on the boat. One of the victims, a 35-year-old man, died on the spot, while the other, a 38-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries at Sanpya hospital.

Ah Kyina social welfare members and Thaketa Network members were among the first responders who arrived at the scene to offer assistance.

A representative from Ah Kyina social welfare group expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased and called for an investigation into the cause of the accident.
