The Union Supreme Court of Myanmar reached a verdict on August 22 that the special appeal filed by U Aung San Oo for the inheritance share of 54 University Avenue in Bahan Township, Yangon, with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was approved as he had demanded.

Details about the verdict are not known, according to a source close to the lawyers for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

Western Yangon District Court ruled in 2016 that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi would own the two-story building and half the land, while U Aung San Oo would own another one-story building and half the land.

However, U Aung San Oo lodged an appeal demanding an auction of the whole land and a half share, but it was turned down.

On October 17, 2018 again, he appealed to the Union Supreme Court, which dismissed his appeal on December 12.

U Aung San Oo filed a special appeal to the Supreme Court on January 11, 2019 and the court passed the verdict after hearing the case.
