Budget deficit down this FY

During more than three months of 2018-2018 fiscal year, the country’s budget deficit declined to over 380 million USD, compared with the same period last year, according to the figures from the Commerce Ministry.

From October 1, 2018 to January 11, 2019 of 2018-2019 fiscal year, the import volume hit 5092.885 million USD, down USD 100.249 million, compared with the last year’s figure of 5193.134 million USD.

Myanmar exported over 4,000 million USD this fiscal year, up over 280 million USD.

In the last fiscal year,  there was a trade deficit of over 1,400 million USD, according to the Commerce Ministry.

Dr. Than Myint, Union Minister for Commerce said at the 24th annual meeting of Myanmar Bean and Pulses and Sesame Merchants Association said the country would promote the quality and quantity of export items for trade promotion and import more capital goods which would help support long-term economic development.
