The military and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) clashed again in northern Shan State in recent days, bringing the total skirmishes to 11 times during June, according to the information department of the TNLA.

Allied forces of the army and Khaungkhar militia and the TNLA encountered near Marnaung Village, Kutkai Township, northern Shan State on June 20 as the army intruded near the village, it said.

The TNLA said a fight broke out near Marnpwe Village, Mongtong Township on June 19.

Moreover, two skirmishes also occurred near Nantyoon Village in Mongtong Township in the morning at a place between Nantyoon and Mongmai villages in the afternoon on June 17.

In the same day, military and the TNLA forces engaged each other again.

The fights between army and TNLA occurred for 11 times during June, 14 times after the army extended the unilateral ceasefire period on April 30.

The Daily Eleven had tried to contact Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, secretary of the Tatmadaw True News Information Team to confirm about the battles but no answer has been received as of writing this article.

Although the TNLA is in negotiation with the government to sign bilateral agreement, they have no agreement on the venue to meet yet.
