Armed groups attacked Naung Mon police station in Lashio-Mandalay Union Highway in northern Shan State today at around  5:00  am where 14 policemen were killed including police officer of Naung Mon police station.

“We heard loud noises since 5:00 am but we couldn’t dare to go out. We heard the sound of heavy weapons since 7:00 am. But now, passenger buses are running as normal,” said a local of Naung Mn village.

The bodies of the policemen killed in the attack were brought back to Lashio with ambulances and philanthropic vehicles.

At present, security has tightened in the area and road from city hall to Yoma Bank was blocked.
