Arakan Front Party (AFP) has applied for registration as a political party, submitting party leaders, flag and emblem.

The application was submitted on October 31 along with the membership list—advocate Khin Nu as party leader and Soe Win deputy leader and party representative.

"We submitted our application for registration on October 30. First leader is U Khin Nu and deputy leader U Soe Win. Party representative is me U Soe Win," said Soe Win.

He said in the second stage, party chairperson and central executive committee would have to be submitted.

State-run newspapers announced on November 2 that any complaint could be filed against the party name, flag and emblem by showing firm evidence within seven days from the announcement.

AFP will reportedly be led by Lower House MP Dr Aye Maung facing a court trial. Independent candidate Tin Maung Win, son of Dr Aye Maung, will be competing in the November 3 by-election.
