Everyone who had wanted to be a somebody in a field have had to deal with constantly surfacing challenges that will test your passion, patience and perseverance. Artist Nay Win, more commonly known by his group name Snare, is one such individual that strived in the music scene, falling flat on his back many times and having to learn to pick himself up throughout his career before finding success. Today, he shares with his some of his childhood memories.

Born on 25 April 1987, he was the second son amongst four siblings. The music bug seemed to have come with him since birth, often singing whatever songs that was in his head while strumming his dad's guitar even before he attended kindergarten. He claims that he still remember to this days the songs that he used to sing as a child.

"I remember this one time really well when it was Ta Saung Tine (Full Moon Day) and they would hold small theatre acts and plays. I performed on stage U Kyaw Hein (veteran actor and singer) song - Myin Nay Tae Myat Lone Myar (The eyes that see). People loved it and i got offered gigs afterwards to perform at like small school events. I was paid 15 Kyats!," said Snare with nostalgia in his eyes.

When it came to academics, he wasn't much of an exemplary student to say the least. He was a wild student and had a lot of friends because he would always sing and perform. He recall many instances where he tried to get his records and mixtapes publicity by playing his tracks at school events, by giving out his records on stage whenever there is an event, doing an all nighter at the recording studio and sleeping there - getting to school next morning straight from the studio.

He expressed that there were a lot of challenges that he had to face and frankly, he did not think he would make it as an artist. He said, "I kept making songs fueled by my passion. I started out at 12 and only at 22, I began getting accepted by the audience. It took me a decade of sacrifice. My career was very nearly killed off at least five times. I managed to stand back up everytime. There have been instances where all of my work got deleted and was unrecoverable. The studio I was involved in was flooded literally up until the ceiling three times. So many losses and damages done that it took all I had to fight back against the depression that set in. And I had to be in the underground scene as well for the 10 years. I also worked as an audio engineer at the studio. There were so many hurdles I faced in the music industry here."

His first group album, as part of Hip Hop Vibration, came out in 2005 but it flopped. It was in 2010 when, under the group Snare that he manged a breakthrough with the 'Rap Game' album, particularly with the fan-favorite song called 'Danger'. While Snare started out as a five-member team, it finally came down to Nay Win and Phyo Lay as two remaining members of the group to keep it going.

After that, Nay Win found another resounding success "Sway Myoe Par Mae" solo album, hitting top of the best selling albums in many places including City Mart's chain of music stores. He is now in a healthy, loving relationship with a famous Travel Blogger 'Travel Kueen' Eaint Chit Chaw. Both are known to always give their best in their craft on their own and also together as a couple.

"This year, there are more songs coming; from both solo tracks to Snare songs. The Snare also have a concert planned this year. There are also collab tracks coming out as part of G - Family," said Nay Win Snare, thanking the fan and signing off.
