4 officers including Lt police colonel injured in explosion as they inspected evidence package in Nay Pyi Taw

An explosion occurred as a package containing court evidence sent by Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, was opened for inspection at the Central Investigation Department (CID) in Nay Pyi Taw, wounding four officers including a lieutenant police colonel, according to local sources.   

The incident occurred at about 4.30 pm on October 5. The wounded officers including Lt. Police Colonel Zaw Than were sent to Thaikchaung military hospital (1,000 beds) in Zeyathiri Township for medical treatment.

The CID headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw, where the blast occurred, is close to the office of Myanmar Police Force.

​On October 5 afternoon also, a home-made bomb was reportedly thrown into a staff ferry of the ministry of labour, immigration and population near Building No.4356 at the intersection of Yadanadipa 7th Street and 6th Street in Thukha Theikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township.

 Moreover, an explosion occurred at the office of a military directorate in Bayintnaung Ward, Pobbathiri Township, on September 30. A car and some parts of the office building were damaged.

​The information team of the State Administration Council has been contacted for those reports, but it has yet to reply.
