The National League for Democracy government will establish the 25th government ministry, according to the first-day session agenda of the 10th regular meetings of Union Parliament.

The agenda says a member of a union level organization with its power entrusted by the president will clarify the new ministry establishment during a session of Union Parliament to be held on Monday (today).

Under the Thein Sein government, there were 36 ministries. But the NLD government started its duty assumptions with 20 ministries only, not appointing deputy ministers. However, deputy ministers were later appointed while four more ministries were also established namely Ministry of State Counsellor's Office, Ministry of Union Government's Office, Ministry of Ethnic Affairs, Ministry of international Cooperation. Therefore, the number of ministries has increased to 24.

There have been reports that a new ministry will be related to investment.
