12 companies submit prequalification applications for Yangon Elevated Expressway Phase-1 project

Construction Ministry yesterday released the list of 12 companies which submitted prequalification application for Yangon Elevated Expressway Phase-1 project which will be developed under a Private-Public Partnership by the Construction Ministry and Yangon Region Government.

The deadline for the submission of Yangon Elevated Expressway Phase-1 project was November 13.

VINCI Highways from France, Team Korea Consortium from Korea, China Commutations Construction Company Ltd and CRIG-CDL Consortium from China, China-Myanmar joint-ventured Shanghai Pengxin (Group) Co., Ltd Consortium, China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd (CGGC)/Great Genesis Gems Co., Ltd (GGG) Consortium from China and China-Thailand ITD-CSI JV and China-Myanmar Denso-CSCEC Consortium, Power Construction Corporation of China Ltd. JFEE/Marubeni Consortium from Japan, Thailand-Japan-Myanmar BSSIC Consortium and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation from the Philippines.

The Construction Ministry will implement the inner ring road as the elevated expressway in Yangon. The east wing of Yangon Elevated Expressway Phase-1 project will be developed under the PPP system.

On November 13, the ministry held a ceremony to carry out the tender process at the ministry office in Nay Pyi Taw in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Yangon Elevated Expressway will link downtown, Yangon jetty, Yangon International Airport, Mingalardon Industrial Zone and Yangon-Mandalay highway.
