A concrete bridge on the Bilin-Natgyi highway in Bilin Township, Mon State, was destroyed by a landmine explosion, rendering it impassable for both pedestrians and vehicles, according to reports.

The incident occurred in the morning of May 26, approximately 300 meters west of Tanyin Pin Village in Mon State. The attack targeted Bridge No. (3/17), a reinforced concrete structure measuring 80 feet in length and 24 feet in width, located between mile markers 16/2 and 16/3 on the Bilin-Natgyi road.

According to a statement from the military government’s information team, the bridge was destroyed by a coordinated mine attack carried out by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and allied People’s Defense Forces (PDFs).

The explosion caused the southern end of the bridge to collapse, making it impossible for people and vehicles to cross. Authorities have reportedly begun urgent repair efforts to restore the bridge.
