Some railway sections have to undergone maintenance works due to the heavy rain and floods in Bago Region and therefore Yangon-Mawlamyine train schedules will re-start on October 14, according to officials from Mawlamyine Railway Station.
“Maintenance works have been carried out in Naung Pattaya and Kali stations. After the strength and durability of the railways have been checks, train schedules will re-start on October 14,” said an official from Mawlamyine Railway Station.
Train schedules will be announced at Mawlamyine Railway Station and its Facebook page, he continued.
As a result of flooding in Bago Region, Yangon-Mawlamyine upstream and downstream trains had to temporarily stopped since October 9, he added.
